Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a comprehensive treatment approach for working with a

wide range of presenting problems. This workshop will provide an overview of the DBT model

as well as ways to effectively apply the skills across a wide range of settings. Theoretical basis

and empirical evidence supporting DBT will be reviewed. Skills from each of the four DBT

modules will be illustrated. The workshop will utilize PowerPoint, discussion, and role plays to

meet the following objectives:

–Demonstrate knowledge of the foundation and research evidence for DBT

–Become familiar with four DBT skill modules (Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness)

–Practice application of DBT techniques
