Mental Health Counseling: Ethical and Risk Management Issues

This presentation will review the ethical and risk management issues that arise in the practice of mental health counseling. Problems relating to confidentiality, consent, privacy, technology, and diversity will be identified and reviewed. The presentation will utilize PowerPoint, discussion, and case studies to meet the following objectives:
- Describe ethical issues relating to consent, privacy, and confidentiality
- Become familiar with risk management strategies in the resolution of ethical dilemmas arising from the use of technology
- Practice application of risk management strategies
