The main focus of this seminar is to provide Mental Health Professionals on important facts, processes, and language to know about starting hormones (adults and children) and the process for this—especially blockers for children.  The presentation will provide lecture and opportunities to discuss case studies in order to apply newly learned content.

Objectives:

  • Attendees will be provided with updates in gender terminology, paradigms, and overview medical or surgical care options for gender diverse/transgender clients
  • Attendees will learn how mental health professionals can assess, educate, and prepare clients for medical or surgical gender affirming care
  • Attendees will participate in a discussion around cases & conundrums: Patient-centered care guiding clinical recommendations for the medical and mental health professional
