Through this interactive training, participants will understand the spectrum of Gender Identity concerns in a therapeutic setting.  Information and terms regarding gender identity continually changes for the better, as should our therapeutic practice.  This training will provide mental health professionals with information and definitions as well as case examples to explore culturally responsive treatment within the scope of mental health counseling practice when working with clients on the gender spectrum.

After attending this seminar, participants will:

  1. Be familiar with various terms and growing terminology.
  2. Understand the various procedures that clients may pursue during gender affirmation.
  3. Learn about the Standards of Care published by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
  4. Discuss various complex procedures from intake and paperwork and health insurance concerns to name and document changes.
  5. Utilize evidence-based techniques and interventions through case examples.
  6. Become familiar with the various resources and support groups available to clients in the area.
*Individuals must attend the entire presentation and submit a presentation evaluation in order to receive their CEs/CEUs.  A certificate of attendance awarding CEs/CEUs will not be emailed to attendees under any circumstances.
